The shift tower before and after cleaning
The shift lever was very loose and could twist a lot, the pin in the slot shows why
It is in need of a trip to Gary's shop
The hole for the pin needs to be reamed until it is straight and true
The shifter slot is milled until the sidewalls are straight
The math is done and a new pin is turned on the lathe
The sides of the head are milled to the width of the new shifter slot
The pin gets further tweaking until it shifts properly
It is now ready for some grease, the retainer and the snap ring.
