With the block getting new sleeves and pistons it was decided to get a new valve train too
The manifold mating surface had eroded away on the front exhaust port, nicely resurfaced
Resurfaced and with new guides, valves, springs, and keepers
The seats ground and valves lapped it is ready
I got to use the hone on the rods so no shims should be required
The cleaned up conditioned rods are attached to the pistons according to the service manual
The ring gap is verified on all the new rings
The Pistons in and rod bolts torqued and wired, it's ready for the sump
Oil pan in place
The end gaskets have been wrapped around a spray paint can for a few weeks so they had a nice curve
The view from the top
The push rod cover plate is back on
With the head back on it is starting to take shape
The temp got up to 50 that's warm for December. But I got the outdoor paint booth open long enough for this
Looks good in the December sunshine
