The power steering on my second WD45D was intermittent at best
The coupler on the generator end looked OK

but the end from the pump looked chewed up
as did the driven shaft

The gears looked as if they had feasted on pieces of this bearing

Gary Agrimson made some excellent new gears and shafts

By cutting these in half there will be two sets.

Gary also made a new longer coupler.
After a bit of chamfering it slides all the way over the splines on the generator.

Now with new bearings and seals it should be like a new pump
