The final drives were among the last things to be disassembled
The brake drums come off with a special puller and a hydraulic jack
Then the mice have no where to hide.
The blast cabinet does wonders
The pinion shafts cleaned up nicely
The wear marks from the seals are a bit duller but not deep
New bearings and they're ready to go
There's a pressure relief hole right below the oil seal
The hole is angled down and the casting shaped so oil doesn't leak when upright
Pinion shafts installed with new bearings and seals,
there's sealant on the threads of the studs too to prevent leaks
It would have been tough to get paint between these
some paint was required before assembly here
With brake drums installed the final drives can be put back on
