A couple thousandths were taken off the rod caps then they were
assembled with no
shims and honed to allow for .002 oil clearance.
The rods need to be placed with the narrow side toward the main bearings.
They alternate like this
The rings are checked for size in the new sleeves
Here we see the Camshaft and Crankshaft timing marks lined up
Gary turned a brass alignment tool to center the cover for the oil seal

And here with the front crankshaft oil seal installed

I installed the pistons and rods first without rings to see if anything was dragging
