I had the blocks degreased at Northern Cylinder Heads
They get really clean but bare cast iron quickly gets a bit of flash rust
so I put a bit of light oil on the insides
A test fit of a new sleeve fits nicely
The cam bearings need to be installed with a a special tool
I put a rod through the oil hole so I could mark the side for alignment
Plastigauge is used to make sure there is adequate oil clearance
With 4 shims on each side
With 3 shims on each side
With 2 shims on each side
With green plastigauge
